From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance—and the enchanting music that inspires one young woman to put her life back together.

At twenty-two years old, aspiring musician Sydney Blake has a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her good friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter cheating on her with Tori—and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by her mysterious neighbor, Ridge Lawson. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the daily guitar playing he does out on his balcony. She can feel the harmony and vibrations in his music. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either: He seems to have finally found his muse. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one…

From the author of the New York Times bestsellers Slammed, Point of Retreat, Hopeless, This Girl, and Losing Hope, Maybe Someday is destined to become another bestseller and long-lasting fan favorite.

Review:

*Minor spoilers*

I lift my head and look back down into her eyes.
She’s a part of me now.
I’m a part of her.
I kiss her softly on the nose and mouth and chin, then press my ear against her heart again. For the first time in my life, I hear absolutely everything

Maybe someday is one of the few books that had cheating and a triangle and got a 5 star rating from me.

I’d run to him you if I could stand
But I can’t make that demand
What I want I can’t demand
Cuz what I want is you
If I could be his, I would wait
And if I can’t be yours now
I’ll wait here on this ground
Till you come, till you take me away
Maybe someday

What made the book special? I don't know from where to start. I loved so many things in the book. I could see and feel the bond that formed between Sydney and Ridge. It was something beautiful. I loved them together. I can see them lying on the bed, Syd sings a song they just wrote, Ridge plays his guitar and feeling the song through her. I loved that they fought off the attraction and tried to stay just friends. The cheating was a couple of kisses and they felt so bad afterwards that I just couldn't be mad at them. After all, how could they resist each other when they were meant to be? They didn't want to be a Hunter and a Tori. Maggie was actually a very good person from what I gathered.

It’s not so easy when you’re trying to win a war against the heart.

I want to comment further on Sydney and Ridge's relationship, but I can't. It's unique and it had become one of my favorites. Maybe someday is the first book of Colleen Hoover that didn't make me cry, but still it created some really strong emotions in me. It was effortless to fall in this world. We are talking about a Colleen Hoover novel, so what did you expect?

Living with Warren, Bridget and Ridge was fun. The pranks they boys pulled made me laugh a lot. Warren is a very funny guy who is cool to hang out with if you don't have a problem with the shows (I think I can call them shows) he watches on TV.

HOLD ON TO YOU

The cool air running through my hair
Nights like these, they don’t seem fair
For you and I to be so far away
The stars all shimmer like a melody
Like they’re playing for you and me
But only I can hear their sounds
Maybe if I ask them they will play for you
I try wishing on one, maybe I’ll try to
Doesn’t look like there’s much for me to do
I want to hold on to you
Just like these memories I can’t undo
I want to hold on to you
Without you here that’s kind of hard to do
I want to hold
I want to hold on to you
The front seat’s empty, and I know
When it’s just me I seem to go
Places I never wanted to
I need you here to be a light
Star in the sky brighten up my night
Sometimes I need the dark to see
So come on, come on, turn it on for me
Just a little light, then I’ll be able to see
Promise like a comet you won’t fly by me
I want to hold on to you
Just like these memories I can’t undo
want to hold on to you
Without you here that’s kind of hard to do
I want to hold
I want to hold on to you.

The book is filled with music. For the first time I got to hear the lyrics I read in the book. I am not talking about already known songs, but for the ones that the author has written and the music and lyrics were her own. I loved I am in Trouble. I must have listend to that song 100 times already.

Let it Begin

Time went fast
Time went fast till it was gone
Do it right
You think it’s right until it’s wrong
Even after all this time I still want you
Even after all my mind put me throught
So won`t you

Won’t you let it begin
So won’t you
Won’t you let it begin
You hold it out

You hold your heart out in your hand
I snatch it up
I snatch it up fast as I can
Even after all this time I still want you
Even after all my mind put me through
I stand here at your door
Until you come and let me in
I want to be your end
But you gotta let it begin
So won’t you
Won’t you let it begin
Oh, won’t you
Won’t you please say when
