Review: Seaside Lovers (Seaside Summers #7) by Melissa Foster

Fall in Love with Grayson & Parker!

SEASIDE LOVERS
Seaside Summers #7
Melissa Foster
Releasing July 20th, 2016
World Literary Press

After months of long-distance communication, actress Parker Collins and artist Grayson Lacroux finally plan to reconnect in the seaside town of Wellfleet, Massachusetts. But Parker never shows, and weeks pass without a word, leaving Grayson to believe he’s misinterpreted their budding relationship.

Parker has been running on autopilot ever since she lost her friend, mentor, and the only family she’s ever known, Bert Stein. Armed with junk food, tequila, and her big, lovable dog, she’s prepared to hole up and mourn—and determined to mend a fence Bert had never been able to with his estranged and bitter brother. But Parker didn’t count on the sinfully hot artist she’s been fantasizing about for nearly a year walking in on her grief-induced drunken night.

When Grayson stumbles across Parker, he has no idea what to make of the gorgeous blonde who blew him off despite the heat sizzling between them. But that doesn’t stop him from feeling protective of the woman who’s consumed his thoughts for months, and when he learns of Parker’s plans to confront an angry old man, he refuses to leave her side. As Parker’s past unfolds, they’re led on an unexpected journey of discovery. Their connection deepens, and late-night fantasies become passionate realities, until good intentions spark painful secrets, threatening the love they’ve found.

Review:

4.5 out of 5 stars

I was going to put this book in my top 10 2016 books nominations list, but I am not so sure about it now. I loved almost every part of the story. I felt for the characters the moment I saw them and the chemistry between these two was off the charts. From the first time I saw them together, I knew that they would be an amazing couple. And I wasn't wrong. I adore Grayson. He is the perfect boyfriend. In this book Parker is the one who needs support and he is there to offer it to her. He is always doing what he does in order to make Parker happy and that's not a quality I see very often. It didn't feel like this relationship was just one sided and that's one of the reasons I loved the book.

The only part I didn't like in the book was around chapter 15. I felt like the book was dragging a little bit. Even then thought I kept reading the book waiting to see what was next for our happy couple. Recently I complained about the lack of romance in a couple of novels and now karma is hitting me back with a novel that's full of romance. It wasn't a bad thing, but I had started to get used in the novels with a hundred different plots happening. This one had a secondary story going on, which was a very pleasant surprise and it made me shed a tear or two. I don't want to spoil anything because so I won't elaborate.

On GR this book is listed as the 7th in the seaside summer series and 30th in Love in Bloom Series. I loved so much the characters that appeared in this novel that I want to go and read their stories. I will probably never read the whole Love in the Bloom series, but I will aim for the seaside summer. This book made me realize that I love Melissa Foster's writing and from now on she will be one of the authors whose books I will buy without even looking at the blurb.
