Doctor Ella Watts wants her old life back. Desperately. But the past has returned for its rematch, and going back home—even telling anyone her real name—isn’t an option until she’s confident in her MMA abilities. Personal trainer Lance Black is the man to help her reach her goals. Not only is he toned, muscular, and gorgeous, he’s patient, a great teacher, and willing to treat her like a worthy opponent. Except his size makes her freeze whenever he gets too close. If Ella can’t learn how to overcome her fear of being attacked, she’ll never be able to move on with her life.

Underground fighter Lance Black knows there’s more to the mysterious blonde ninja than a beautiful woman determined to improve her fighting skills. She can best anyone close to her size – man or woman – but insists on working out with him, even though he’s got a good 70 pounds and several inches on her. Despite her reticence, he’s determined to get her to open up so he can help her get over her mental block. And if that means he can get to know her outside the gym, all the better.

As long as she never learns his secrets.

Review:

Healing Love is a story that gives the reader a great lesson. Don't let your pride get the best of you and ruin everything. The characters in this novel have flaws. It's not just pride. Lance got himself involved with the wrong people and now he is paying the price for it. I won't comment farther on the part because it spoils the secrets Lance has, even if it's a big part of the book. Ella is running away from her past which wasn't exactly a good thing to do without realizing how strong she is. She ends up meeting Lance at the Collier gym club, where she goes to improve her fighting abilities.

I wanted to see Skylar and Ella spend more time together. They had a very sweet bonding and I liked the relationship that was developed between them. Skylar is adorable. Maybe if the odds are in my favor I will see them when I read the next book. That is if the author decides to write one. We have plenty of people at the gym.

The relationship between Lance and Ella seemed a little rushed and sudden to me. I wanted them to have more time to explore their feelings and their relationship. I liked how Lance helped her realize how strong she is and that she doesn't have to run anymore. That development was what I loved the most in the book. I liked how fitting the title is for this couple. Both of them were healed of their wounds after they met each other in a slow, but perfect for them away.
