Ethan's grandmother saved the book. She was one of the few things that drew me into the story and I shed a couple of tears for her. Ethan and Gabby are both victims of domestic abusive which instead of making me feel sorry for them made me feel like it was just used as a way to prevent Ethan and Gabby from being together. Gabby doesn't give into Ethans advances because she got burned in her previous relationship and when she later gives in and wants something more Ethans past isn't allowing him to commit. Gabby's ex even appears at random times. Ryan and Mark, Ethans friends, got me interested and I want to read their books. I hope Mark will end up with his high school sweetheart. For me the secondary characters were a lot more interesting than the main ones. I even got more interested in Gabby's dog than I did with Gabby and Ethan. I wanted to see Gabby and Mark playing the video game she had partially created. Mark and Ryan are very close friends with Ethan, but Ethans lady doesn't interact with them much, even though they appear frequently. I am very tempted to read the novella in the series, but I am still thinking about it. I will see what I will do with the series after I read the second book.
