Title: Protecting the Girl Next Door
Author: Noelle Adams and Samantha Chase
Release Date: August 30, 2017
Series: The Protectors #3
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Price: $2.99

Synopsis:

Protecting the Girl Next Door was originally published as Forever Bound. It has since been expanded,
revised, and re-edited.
I like women, and I like adventure. I always have. The last thing I want to do is settle down with the
girl next door and live a boring, domestic life. So I have no idea what I'm doing here, posing as a firstgrade
teacher.
It's the most ridiculous undercover security job I've ever had to work. Corralling a bunch of six-yearolds
while I try to do my job and keep anyone from knowing how clueless I really am. I manage to
fool everyone. Except Kristin.
She's an actual teacher, and she's determined to find out what I'm really doing here. She doesn't trust
me, and her daughter doesn't like me. And the worst part is that I'm starting to like them. A lot.
So now, instead of being the tough guy, I'm stuck with rowdy children and Christmas pageants and
falling in love. It's not the way I thought I'd spend Christmas.

4.5 stars

I am happy that for once the hero was in danger during his assignment. I was starting to feel like things were too easy for our heroes and that a little danger was in order. I was happy in some ways to see that I got what I wanted. Since these books end with HEAs I wasn't worried about something permanent like death happening. For me, Declan and Kristin have the best story out of the four couples. Lily, Kristin's daughter was a surprisingly nice character. At first I was worried I wouldn't like her, but she grew on me. I did feel though as if the Declan's assignment was forgotten when he and Kristin started having a thing and I didn't like it. I would have loved to see him spend more time with Jess who seemed like a very cute and loveable child. I don't feel like the title reflects on the content of the book. Yes, Kristin teaches in the class next door, but Declan's job is to protect Jess. I am not a fan of books that have titles which don't reflect the content of the book. I don't mind if the people of the cover don't look like the people in the book, but I do mind when the title is not exactly honest. Still, Protecting the Girl Next Door is the best book out of the four and my favorite from the series.

Title: Protecting the Movie Star
Author: Noelle Adams and Samantha Chase
Release Date: August 30, 2017
Series: The Protectors #4
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Price: $2.99

Synopsis:

Protecting the Movie Star was originally published as Home Bound. It has since been expanded, revised,
and re-edited.
The story of my life isn't pretty. I come from the wrong side of the tracks. I've been a criminal. I've
been homeless. I almost killed my father, and I might be responsible for the death of my best friend.
I should not be wanting Evangeline.
Her life story is the stuff of dreams. She's America's sweetheart - beautiful, talented, and famous -
and she doesn't want anything to do with me. I'll protect her from a stalker since it's my job, but
that's all I'm allowed. No touching, no lusting, no falling in love. I'm all wrong for her, and she's
completely off-limits.

But I've never been good about following the rules.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

The final book in the series had a very likeable heroine who almost stole Kristin's place as my favourite lady in the series and the worst guy for me out of the four. If I had to choose pairs in the series I would go with Harper and Cole because they are simply not good characters. Cole is not book boyfriend material or swoon worthy. Evangeline, on the other hand, was a relatable character for whom I was concerned. She was able to read Cole's actions and understand why he was acting like a stick was far up in his arse and she was persistent. Despite Cole, the book wasn't overly bad and I read it quite easily. I am happy to say that I knew from early on who was the stalker. For me Protecting the movie star has the most suspense and the best villain.

Review:

2 stars

I am writing this review after having completed the series and I am still not into Harper. I thought that maybe I would warm up to her and end up liking her, but I still don't. My dislike for her is very strong. The only thing she did in this book is hate Levi and been stubborn as a mule. Someone was trying to kill her and she was refusing to believe it making Levi's life harder than it should have been. And I honestly don't understand why there was so much hate between those two. One of the first things Harper said to Levi was "I wish it was you" at her brother's funeral. He might have stood her up for prom but he didn't deserve so much hate. After all it was Gavin's fault he wasn't there. I would recommend to skip this book and read the second book as the first one in the series. It will be much better. Harper is the most annoying and unlikable heroine I have read in a long time.

Review:

3.5 stars

Protecting the enemy is an improvement from the first book, but still, it was mediocre. Each book kept improving as the authors seemed to get more comfortable with their characters. This book was easier to read than the first book, but I wasn't a big fan of the story. Ali was always getting caught when she was snooping around by Sebastian and I was wondering how someone else hadn't caught her on the act. I don't believe that Sebastian ever said to Ali the real reason he broke up with her. We found out, but I don't think she ever did. There was a lot of judgment on her part and Sebastian didn't deserve it. I was very happy to see Al coming to the conclusion that she was treated poorly and unfairly Sebastian this whole time. I wanted to see her grooving a bit more though. She got off quite easily. Sebastian is my favorite guy out of the four men. He got a somewhat good heroine though which is sad. At least she was able to admit her mistakes.
